Sometimes you just have one of those moments where the progress we've made as a culture get thrown into stark relief. You look at something and go "Holy shit, that would never have happened when I was a kid."

Today, I had one of those moments when I realized that the teenage boys I'm working with are just. genuinely, openly enthusiastic about going to Build-a-Bear for their outing.

These are sixteen and seventeen year old boys! They just had a whole conversation about what to name their "cute", mostly new squishmallows! They're genuinely excited that they're going to Build-a-Bear this weekend and asking other kids to pick up specific accessories for them!!

Holy shit, that never would've happened when I was 16. None of the boys would have dared to be visibly interested - and neither would most of the girls! There would have been a million gay jokes and "Haha, you're a girl" jokes and "What are you, a baby?" jokes. Teenagers weren't even supposed to care about anything back then!

Less than 15 years later, and I'm watching three 17 year old boys treat all that as not even worthy of comment.

So let's call that a reason for hope. Even when the kids aren't alright, in some ways apparently they are alright. Go Gen Z, honestly. It's so lovely to watch you guys just openly doing and saying stuff that, when I was a teen, would've been a social death sentence.

love how season 1 of 911 was like we have 10 episodes and we WILL make them count. episode 1 pipe baby into episode 2 character falls to their death during unsuccessful rescue into episode 3 main character has a rebar through the head into episode 4 major devastating plane crash. and the hits just keep coming. one character announces he's a sex addict. another character reveals he accidentally killed his wife and kids and 145 other people. another character cheats on her wife. another character starts dating a toyboy and then her mother dies. another character's husband comes out as gay and daughter attempts suicide. also meanwhile there's collapsing buildings and a murderer and tracheotomy performed on a first date and the most horrific motorbike accident you could imagine. literally who is doing it like them!!!!

as a sort of sorry for the lack of activity this week, here's another yandere drabble for you guys. i currently have some fixation over these kinds of troupe.

yandere bf who will bend down on his knees to stare at you while you are preoccupied doing your work. He likes to look at your face and basically cemented your features into his brain. It made you shy a lot of times but you have gotten used to his unending staring. 

Your hand twitches as you hear your door shut, footsteps slowly making its way to you as your boyfriend kneels and lays down on your lap. He's at the floor, head at your lap, as you paid him with a glance. It's the sixth time for this day alone and he never seems to get over at staring. 

Before, it used to bother you. He is just so intense and he will be so content in just staring and letting him bask in your presence. 

Sometimes, it feels like you have a cat.

He made a slight movement in your lap which made you ruffle his hair. 

Definitely like a cat.

You sighed. 

You always wonder if he likes doing this simply because he distracted you. He won't speak at all but his presence in the room is enough to make your head turn towards him. 

"You have to stop barging in." 

Eyes still staring at your face, he answered. "But, what am I supposed to do?"

"Your hobbies."

He let out a disbelieving sound. "I have you."

"Find something to do." You said. "I can't always be here with you."

Seemingly, his eyes narrowed at your statement. "You'll always be with me." He said it with a tone that leaves no argument. As if you are never leaving his side at all. "Don't ever think like that."

"Oh," you chuckled. "But, we have jobs." 

"Quit it then." He grumbled. "We have enough to live a lifetime."

That's... cute. 

"You don't need a job."

Suddenly, the air between you shifted into something more serious. A foreboding feeling in your gut as he continues to speak at you. It felt as if he was not joking at all.

"I keep telling you that all you need is to be with me and do whatever you want."

You let your smile drop as you stare back at his haunting eyes. You pursue your lips together, feeling them quite dry from your sudden nervousness at his change. Your hands slowly become wet as the dread sinks into you, thousands of thoughts swirling in your mind. 

This happened in seconds.

Then, you blink.

And smile. 

Like you weren't caught as a prey of a predator.

"Isn't that what I am doing, Liam?" You pouted at him. Still, real yet a little more tense. You gave him a little illusion of your obliviousness as you played with the strands of his hair. 

"I supposed." He closed his eyes. 

For a moment, you found yourself breathing at ease.

I feel like in the chaos of things they kinda glossed over possibly the most viscerally horrifying scene and concept in the show, ie; “…where did all the blood go?” “that was the last me,” and charles slowly lifting his lantern up to see the doll spider literally tearing edwin– not just a replica of edwin but literally the body of edwin from just a minute or two earlier– apart limb from limb, torn in half at the waist. then as he moves the lantern a bit to the side he’s met with an entire bloody pile of dismembered, decapitated, eviscerated edwin parts, from god knows how many killings.

like. charles must have persistent fucking nightmares about that right? in the moment he was focused on getting out of there and had to stomach it to move on, but afterwards? i think that must legitimately be the most gruesome, graphic thing he’s ever seen in his entire life/afterlife. i can’t think of anything that could be worse than that. it’s bad enough on it’s own, the live, constant mutilation happening to anyone, but then on top of it all it’s not just anyone– it’s his best friend, the most important person in the world to him.

ghosts can’t exactly sleep, but he must at least get flashbacks, or be triggered on occasion to an extent that makes him feel sick. i dont even know what that'd do to a person honestly, but it'd be hard (if not impossible) even for a pro-internalizer like charles to suppress that memory completely and not be tortured by it for an indefinite amount of time.

When Danny enters the Fenton portal for the very first time, he still trips and shocks himself but at the same time damages the inside of the portal enough that it can’t sustain itself past the point of changing Danny’s molecules.

The electricity and damage done to both Danny and the portal isn’t something Danny, Sam, and Tucker can cover up and his parents find out immediately. They’re more concerned about their son then the portal (they have the blueprints for the portal and can rebuild it later but can’t replace their son if something happened to him) and go through a lot of things emotions regarding the existence of ghost human hybrids.

Danny’s new biology could easily be passed as meta human traits. Unfortunately President Lex Luther had just recently passed laws against meta humans. Meaning they can’t risk people find out about Danny’s new powers, at all. The Fentons decide that Danny should live with one of Maddie or Jacks relatives off grid until he can control his new abilities better.

luckily Jacks sister, Martha, and her husband have experience with a super powered child and after their son moved to the city could probably use a hand on their farm. All Jack needed to do was call.
